Is ERDMates free to use?

Yes, ERDMates has a free plan with no credit card required. The free plan includes basic ERD editing, limited monthly AI generation, and up to 3 projects. Paid plans (Plus at $6/month, Pro at $15/month) unlock more features.

Can I edit AI-generated ERDs?

Yes, all AI-generated ERDs are fully editable. You can add or remove tables and columns, change data types, modify relationships, rename fields, and adjust any part of the schema using the visual drag-and-drop editor.

Can I collaborate with team members in real-time?

Yes, ERDMates supports real-time collaborative editing using Yjs CRDT technology. Multiple team members can edit the same ERD simultaneously with no conflicts. Team collaboration is available on Plus and higher plans.

What databases and SQL dialects does it support?

ERDMates supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, and MSSQL for SQL DDL export. For ORM code generation, it supports 8 frameworks: Prisma, TypeORM, Drizzle, Sequelize, SQLAlchemy, Django ORM, JPA/Hibernate, and Entity Framework Core.

Can I convert existing SQL scripts to an ERD?

Yes, paste your existing CREATE TABLE SQL statements and ERDMates will automatically parse them and convert to a visual ERD diagram. If parsing fails, the AI can attempt to interpret and fix ambiguous SQL.

Is my project data secure?

Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption) and stored in AWS RDS PostgreSQL with encryption at rest. We implement security best practices including HttpOnly cookies, CSRF protection, and input sanitization.

Can I use ERDMates offline?

Basic ERD viewing and manual editing work without internet. However, AI features (generation, chat, optimization) and real-time collaboration require an active internet connection.

Is ERDMates accessible on mobile devices?

ERDMates is a web application accessible from mobile browsers. It is optimized for desktop and laptop screens due to the nature of diagram editing. A dedicated mobile experience is planned.
